Fraudsters have started using new methods to hack iPhones.

Now they are calling, posing as Apple support employees, and offering users to reinstall deleted applications.

The attackers are also sending out fake notifications from the company, Anton Nemkin, a member of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, told RIA Novosti .

He explained that fraudsters can block a smartphone if a user enters their data into a fake account.

After that, they demand a large sum of money from the victim, who has visited the fake site and entered the Apple ID and password, to unlock it.

According to the MP, attackers also use data leaks to log into Apple accounts.

Fraudsters also use social engineering. They ask for Apple ID data or a two-factor authentication code under various pretexts. After receiving the information, control over the device passes into the hands of the scammers.

Nemkin called on people not to share their personal data with unknown persons on the Internet.
