About 20 people will be relocated in Yakutia due to smoke

The Main Directorate of the Russian Emergencies Ministry in Yakutia reported that the evacuation of 20 residents of the village of Belaya Gora is being prepared.

The reason given is heavy smoke in the region.

In their official Telegram channel, the rescuers indicated: “A Mi-8 helicopter is currently moving to the specified area in order to resolve the situation.”

Before the Russian Emergencies Ministry's statement, the Yakutia Rescue Service reported that in the Abyisky District, due to dry weather, there was a threat of a forest fire moving towards the village of Belaya Gora.

The press service of the Russian Emergencies Ministry also added: “At the moment, heavy smoke is being recorded in Belaya Gora.”

Seventeen people were transported from the village to the settlement of Kieng-Kyuel using a Mi-8 helicopter.

In addition, it is reported that the fire is observed at a distance of almost seven kilometers from the village.

However, it is reported that there is no direct threat of the forest fire spreading to the populated area.
