Doctors from Ufa saved a child who swallowed nail clippers
An incident involving a six-year-old child in UFA has become known.
A toddler accidentally swallowed nail clippers, putting his life in danger.
The Bashkiria Ministry of Health reported the incident on its Telegram channel.
A child with a foreign body inside his stomach was taken to hospital number 17 in Ufa.
Medical workers decided to perform an emergency fibrogastroscopy, for which they administered general anesthesia.
It is noted that the mucous membrane of the stomach and esophagus were not damaged when the forceps were removed. The surgeons used a special device called an endobasket to minimize possible damage.
Following the surgical intervention, the six-year-old patient began to recover. According to the publication, the boy has already been discharged home.
As the Ministry of Health clarified, such operations became possible thanks to modern equipment that is being purchased for hospitals as part of the Healthcare project.
