The old scheme with so-called “car designers” is being implemented again on the Russian market.
To save money and get a solid "profit", resourceful entrepreneurs transport cars in the form of so-called cut-ups. Some are sent for spare parts, but sometimes the body is welded and they try to sell it as if nothing had happened.
The scheme is not new, but for some time it lost its relevance. Now sawers are back in business, writes " Gazeta.Ru ".
Expert Maxim Shelkov reported that fraudsters mainly offer right-hand drive Japanese cars at reduced prices, which were allegedly imported through the Republic of Belarus.
Fraudsters try to foist off on people fake documents and vehicles that were assembled from parts imported under the guise of spare parts.
Legalization can also occur with the help of unscrupulous officials, the expert noted.
The traffic police will reveal the fake documents. As a result, the registration will be cancelled, and the owner will be left with an illegal car in his hands.
In this case, buyers are in a very vulnerable position, since there is almost no chance of getting their money back, and there is no way to legalize such cars in principle.
