In Russia, fines for traffic violations have increased significantly.

Now drivers who exceed the speed limit will be forced to pay 50% more.

This was reported by the TASS agency with reference to the corresponding document signed by Vladimir Putin.

According to the law, now the penalty for exceeding the speed limit by 20-40 kilometers will be punishable by a fine of 750 rubles. Previously, drivers faced a fine of 500 rubles for the same offense.

In turn, for the next threshold of exceeding from 41 to 60 kilometers, you will have to pay 2-2.25 thousand rubles more instead of 1-1.5 thousand, as it was before.

If the driver exceeds the speed limit of 61-80 km/h, then he will have to pay from 3 to 3.75 thousand rubles instead of 2-2.5 thousand rubles.

It is noted that in the latter case there is an alternative punishment in the form of deprivation of a driver's license for a period of 4 to 6 months. This measure remains unchanged.

If the speed was exceeded by 80 kilometers or more, then the driver will have to pay 7,500 instead of 5,000 rubles and may lose his license for 6 months.
