Putin signs law toughening penalties for illegal actions by debt collectors

It has become known about a new law that will regulate collection activities.
Punishment for abuse of authority by collectors has been increased.
The relevant document is posted on the portal for the official publication of legal acts.
The activities of such organizations will be punished as follows. For illegal use of the name "professional collection organization", officials will pay from 20 to 50 thousand, and legal entities - from 100 to 300 thousand rubles.
It is noted that the previously effective legislation regulated proper communication with debtors. However, when it was violated, organizations were not punished.
Now, after the law is passed, collectors will have to pay a fine depending on their status:
- officials will be punished with a fine of between 100 thousand and 1 million rubles or disqualification for a period of 1 year;
- Legal entities will have to pay up to 2 million rubles.
