The FSB has listed the keywords used by scammers over the phone, according to an article in RIA Novosti .
They persuade victims to transfer money to a special account for safekeeping or to withdraw cash and hand it over to a courier.
One of the common methods of deception is to report a criminal case against the victim.
When scammers call, citizens should be alerted by the following words:
- "bank security representative", "safe account", as well as "single settlement account of the Central Bank of Russia" or "your civic duty".
Fraudsters may also mention the FSB or the Ministry of Internal Affairs in conversation with a potential victim.
Fraudsters posing as security agency employees most often use these words to extort money.
