Fraudsters have come up with a new scheme to deceive people by giving flowers.

This trick is especially relevant during sales and holidays, warned the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for Moscow.

The scheme consists of two stages. First, a courier comes to the person, TASS reports.

He brings a bouquet of flowers that no one ordered. The person takes the free bouquet, but soon receives a call on his phone.

The caller introduces himself as a delivery service employee and asks for help with “filling out reports.”

To do this, the attacker asks to dictate an SMS code that is sent to the victim’s phone.

With its help, fraudsters get the opportunity to conduct financial transactions, including fraudsters can thus issue a loan in the name of a citizen.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs also called for vigilance during the sales season. During such periods, the number of fake online stores increases.
