The number of people infected with West Nile fever in Tatarstan has almost reached 60 people
The number of cases of West Nile fever recorded in Tatarstan has become known.
At the moment, 59 people have already fallen ill with this dangerous disease.
RIA Novosti learned about the epidemiological situation in the republic from the local Ministry of Health.
It is noted that West Nile fever was first recorded here at the end of July. Moreover, the condition of the patients was assessed as moderate, 58 out of 59 patients required hospitalization.
Of these, 13 are still undergoing treatment in hospital.
According to updated data, as of August 25, no new cases of West Nile fever have been registered in the country.
A total of 59 confirmed cases of the disease were diagnosed between July 21 and August 25.
Moreover, previously the number of cases in the country did not exceed 8 cases (2023).
Let us recall that the main carriers of West Nile fever are mosquitoes. Most cases recorded in Russia are imported.
