Woman Lived With 16-Centimeter Scissors in Her Stomach for Seven Years and Found Out About Them by Accident
The woman went to the hospital complaining of headaches, and doctors found a foreign body in her body.
The incident happened to Fatma Kala from Turkey.
It all started with a visit to the clinic regarding headaches, reports the Hurriyet publication.
The doctors asked the patient a number of clarifying questions, including information about previous surgeries.
Fatma said that seven years ago she needed surgery to remove a cyst.
Doctors conducted an examination and reported that surgical scissors from a previous operation remained in the patient's stomach.
For seven years, the woman lived with a medical instrument that was 16 cm long.
She underwent a second operation and the foreign object was successfully removed.
Now the Turkish woman wants to sue the clinic and the doctor who performed the operation to remove the cyst.
"I live thanks to a miracle. Human life should not be so defenseless," the victim shared.
The police have taken up the investigation. Law enforcement officers are currently establishing the details of the incident.
