The Golden Retriever is a very kind and beautiful dog.

This breed does not tolerate loneliness, so it is not suitable for keeping in an aviary. The retriever should live with the owners under the same roof.

This is a fairly large dog. The retriever is over 50 cm tall and weighs about 30 kg. Because of its very good-natured nature, the retriever will not make a guard dog.

Retrievers are very sociable and radiate love not only to their owner, but also to all household members and those around them. They love children very much.

If you don’t keep an eye on him, he may rush to an unfamiliar child or adult to play, and scare them with this, since the Golden Retriever is a rather large dog.

The retriever absolutely cannot stand loneliness, and if it happens that it is without communication with its owner for several days, it can become very bored and sad, which results in inappropriate behavior.

Out of boredom and loneliness, a Golden is capable of gnawing everything that comes his way: shoes, wallpaper, linoleum.

A Golden Retriever should be walked 1 to 2 hours a day, every day. Then he will be obedient the rest of the time.

Ideally, it is good to walk a Golden 3 times a day. But this is not always achievable. Many working owners can only take their dog outside in the morning, before work, and in the evening, after work.

In this case, special attention should be paid to the evening walk, which should allow the dog to run around to its heart's content and even get tired.

From two to four months - retriever puppies are fed 4 times a day. From four to six months (sometimes up to nine) - they are fed three times a day.

After that, they are fed twice a day. Food should be given after a walk. And it is necessary that there is always access to water.

The retriever should normally be muscular and have some fat. The ribs should not be visible, but if you press on them lightly, they should be palpable.

When feeding a golden retriever natural foods, it is necessary that approximately half of the diet consists of meat products.

Another quarter of the diet is cereals. And the remaining quarter is various vegetables. You can cook a hearty, thick soup from all the ingredients.

Or cook porridge separately and add stewed meat and vegetables to it. In addition, it is useful to add fermented milk products, as well as raw or boiled eggs, fish to the diet.

You can't feed the retriever sweets, as well as flour and fatty foods. You can't give chicken bones.

The golden retriever has quite long and thick fur, and it tolerates frosts well. But it is not capable of being in the cold all the time. Therefore, the pet must live in the house.

Goldens shed constantly. This is especially pronounced in the fall and spring. If you brush them daily, it will make life easier for your family and rid your apartment of retriever hair.

A golden retriever is bathed about once a month. Periodically, its teeth are brushed, its eyes and ears are looked after, and it is also treated for parasites.

If the dog's ribs are not palpable, this indicates obesity. In this case, you should almost eliminate porridge from the diet, and add more fruits and meat.

Training a golden retriever should be done using the reward method and can be started from an early age, from a few months. Praise the puppy for every correct action, encouraging him with affectionate words, a treat or an interesting game.

Don't let your puppy bite, even in a playful way. Train him to play with a rope or other toys, not with your things. Also train him to a certain daily routine, when the puppy will sleep in the mornings and will not wake you up.

Be patient during training. Gradually complicate the commands. Do not punish the puppy too much for mistakes, retrievers are very gentle and vulnerable. It is better to train using the method of encouragement, praising for correct actions.

Retrievers are smart and kind dogs that are easy to train. But remember that such a dog is, in a sense, almost a member of the family, which will require patience and constant care from you.

It's raining or snowing outside - and you need to get up and walk your dog. You're lying down with a fever - and your dog needs your care, you need to feed it and take it outside. A dog in the house is not only a sea of joy, but also daily care and work.
