One of the myths is that dogs and cats perceive the world in the same way as people. This is, of course, not true.

The truth is that dogs' normal senses are naturally supplemented by a heightened sense of smell and hearing.

Pictures of the surrounding world are much more voluminous than in the brain of an ordinary person.

For example, the nose processes on average 50 times more information than humans. Nerve endings manage to transform data from the environment into fully-fledged messages for the brain.

Thanks to their highly developed sense of smell, dogs are of great value to people. After all, it is through smells that modern police dogs find drugs, explosives, weapons and other dangerous objects.

In Italy, dogs use their noses to find truffles, a kilo of which can cost up to two thousand dollars at the market. A good reason to get a dog, right?

The air currents rising from the ground signal to a passing dog that somewhere nearby, in the foliage or among the branches, a precious truffle is hidden. This is how the Lagotto breed came into being.

One of the important elements of a dog's body is teeth. Remember that it is important for a dog to train them periodically. Buy your pet dog bones and everything will be fine. Do not forget to properly train the animal, especially a large one. Because when it grows up, it is extremely important to strengthen your authority in its mind.

To avoid being bitten or getting into other, more serious troubles.
It doesn't end with smell. A dog's hearing is also unique. Each ear can move in its own direction, picking up sound waves of interest.

A dog's hearing is ten to twenty times more sensitive than a human's. That's why a sleeping dog at home wakes up and goes to the window when it hears the distinctive sound of its owner's car approaching a couple of kilometers away.

The sight of a greyhound covers a range of 270 degrees due to the special design of its muzzle.

Her eyes are located on the sides. But we see such shades and colors that are indistinguishable for a dog's eye. For example, green.

Inability to distinguish green color in humans is considered color blindness, but in dogs it is normal.

The whole world for them, according to scientists, is in red and blue tones. However, as soon as the sun sets, the dog immediately gains an advantage. They see much better in the dark.

You have probably seen how the eyes of cats and dogs glow in the dark. This happens because of a special reflective surface, due to the presence of which they see in the darkness much better than we do. Among other things, they have additional receptors, and because of them they navigate in the dark remarkably well.

Of course, their excellent sense of smell comes to their aid, creating a three-dimensional image in the animal's brain where for us at night there is nothing but a cacophony of different smells.

If you look at the night through the eyes of a dog, it will be a well-lit, gray space without colors, with sounds and smells amplified twenty times.
