How to Minimize Conflicts
First, it is necessary to understand which individual is the instigator of conflicts. In the canine environment, everything is based on a strict hierarchy, as it was in the days of their wild ancestors, the wolves.
Therefore, the alpha individual strives to subjugate the other, which is indicated by a threatening posture and attempts to bite the withers.
At the same time, a submissive dog displays a tucked tail, ears pressed to the head and a submissive posture.
Secondly, once the roles are defined, one should not favor one dog over another. It is not advisable to pity the subordinate and punish the dominant dog, as their behavior is determined by nature.
Thirdly, you should feed the alpha first, and then only the dog that has taken on the role of a subordinate. Trying to protect the second will only make it worse.
If aggression between two dogs crosses the line, contact your veterinarian or trainer. In particularly severe cases of hostility, special medications may be needed.
