Measuring body temperature is a procedure that a pet owner should learn from the first months of the puppy's life in the house.
The body of a small dog is not yet strong, and therefore an increase in temperature may indicate pathological processes occurring in the body.
How to measure temperature
Measuring body temperature is easy. You need to lubricate the tip of the thermometer with Vaseline and carefully insert it into the animal's anus.

Three minutes is enough to find out what your pet's body temperature is. If it exceeds 39 degrees, the animal must be shown to a doctor immediately.
If you don’t have a thermometer at home, the following signs will also indicate that your dog is feeling unwell:
- discharge from the eyes and nose;
- chills;
- dry and pale membranes of the mouth.
Also, experts do not recommend trying to bring down the temperature on your own, since this will only get rid of the symptoms, but will not help rid the animal of the disease.
