How to Stop a Cat from Begging for Food
Before taking action against your pet, it is important to find out the reason why your cat is acting this way.
An animal begs for food in three cases:
- if it is hungry;
- if it is spoiled;
- if it is very curious in life.
First, it is important to establish whether all household members follow the rules you set.
Because if you forbid feeding your cat from the table, and one of your household members continues to do so, then you will never wean the animal off its bad habit.
Secondly, do not leave dirty dishes so that the cat is not tempted to lick them.
Third, don't let your pet climb on the counters. If all else fails, just don't let your pet be in the kitchen while you're eating.
The key is to be consistent and not allow your household or guests to feed your cat.
