At some point in its life, even the most domesticated cat must take a trip, at least to the vet to get the necessary vaccinations.
A pedigree cat may go to a stud cat that matches the desired quality and usually never lives close by.
Many cats take part in various exhibitions, so they have to travel repeatedly, sometimes to neighboring countries.

There are also cat owners who do not want to part with their cat even in their free time, and therefore take it with them to their vacation destination. Therefore, it is necessary for the cat to behave confidently during the car trip.
Very often, a cat likes to show off by lying near the rear window of a car. However, this way of traveling is very dangerous.
If the cat suddenly gets scared of something, it can jump on the back of the driver's head or get caught between the gas and brake pedals, which can lead to an accident.
Therefore, in case of an unexpected incident, out of excitement, you can open the door, forget to close it, and the cat will run away. Frightened by an unfamiliar place and finding itself without loved ones, it is very often simply impossible to find the cat.
Therefore, when transporting a cat in a car, its freedom of movement must be limited as much as possible: it is best to transport a cat in a transport container for cats or in a basket with a door or lid.
The transport container should be large enough for the cat to turn around, stand up, and lie down comfortably. In addition, the container should have a clear view of the surrounding space through the holes that let air through.
It is a good idea to put a thick layer of newspaper on the bottom of the container as bedding. Firstly, it retains heat well, and secondly, it absorbs urine well if necessary.
A cat should be accustomed to car travel from a very early age. It should start with short distances and in the company of people, not just the driver.
Gradually, the duration of the trip should be increased until the cat is completely accustomed to the noise of the car.
The cat also needs to be gradually accustomed to the transport container. Before placing the cat in it, place the container in a visible place a few days before the expected trip.
Open the door and wait until the cat, overcoming its fear, climbs inside to explore the new space.
In the following days, the cat will get used to the container in the room, and you can safely close the container door to transport your pet. The last time before the trip, the cat should be fed 6-7 hours before departure, and given water 2-3 hours before. During the trip, the cat should not be fed or given water.
