Saving Time and Money: Dog Breeds That Don't Require Grooming

Grooming is an important part of owning a dog. However, there are dog breeds whose coats do not require regular grooming.

These breeds have coats that grow slowly and are self-cleaning.

Examples of such breeds include the Bedlington Terrier, Kerry Blue Terrier, Dogue de Bordeaux, and Bedlington Terrier.

These dogs have short, coarse coats that rarely need trimming.

It is enough to comb the coat once a week with a brush and a metal comb to remove dead hair.

Another group of breeds that do not require grooming are dogs with wire coats. These include the dachshund, beagle, Irish wolfhound and Australian shepherd.

Their hard, straight coat barely grows, and old hair falls out on its own during the shedding process. These dogs only need occasional brushing.

Another group of dog breeds that do not require grooming are dogs that do not have an undercoat. These breeds include the Chinese Crested, Peruvian, and Mexican Hairless Dog.

These dogs do not have a fluffy undercoat, and the coat consists only of stiff, wire-like guard hairs.

This type of fur practically does not shed and does not require care. It is enough to occasionally comb out dead hair with a soft brush.

Another breed of dog without an undercoat is the American Hairless Dog. It has almost no hair on its body, only a little stiff hair on the tail and limbs. It is very easy to care for such hair - just wipe the skin with a damp cloth.

Also included in the list of dogs that do not require grooming are hairless breeds such as the Chinese Hairless Dog, Peruvian Hairless Dog, and Mexican Hairless Dog. They have no hair on their bodies at all. Their skin requires the same care as human skin.

To sum up, we can distinguish several groups of dog breeds whose fur does not require regular trimming:

• Dogs with short, hard hair (Bedlington Terrier, Kerry Blue Terrier, Bordeaux Dog). They only need occasional brushing.
• Dogs with wire hair without undercoat (Dachshund, Irish Wolfhound, Australian Shepherd). Their hair practically does not grow and sheds itself.
• Dogs without undercoat (Chinese Crested, Peruvian Hairless, Mexican Hairless). They rarely need to be brushed.
• Hairless breeds (Chinese Hairless Dog, Peruvian Hairless Dog). Their skin is cared for like human skin.

So, when choosing a dog that does not require grooming, it is worth paying attention to these breeds. This will save time and money on grooming your pet.
