For example, some dog breeds are good at hunting wild animals, they are able to defeat a large wild animal in a fight, other dogs can pull heavy sleds through the snow for several hundred kilometers without rest, and still other species will protect their owner from attacks by intruders and guard his home without fear or fatigue.

Usually, large dog breeds are considered strong: wolfhound, alabai, great dane, St. Bernard, mastiff. The dimensions of these friends of man are quite large, naturally, such massive sizes of dogs speak of their remarkable strength, but focusing only on the breed parameters of height and weight of the dog is wrong.

Guinness World Records
The strength of dogs listed in the Guinness Book of Records was measured by a unique test: the dog had to pull a particularly heavy load a certain distance. The winner of the test was a young St. Bernard named Raittes. The dog managed to pull a load weighing more than 2 tons a distance of five meters. Now this amazing animal is no longer alive, but the title of champion in strength still belongs to him.
The second dog to repeat Raittes' record was a female Newfoundland named Barbara. She managed to pull a 2.5-ton load the required distance. Amazingly, Barbara herself weighed only 44 kilograms!
English Mastiff and Tosa Inu
The English Mastiff is considered the largest breed of dog of all existing. The largest of the English Mastiffs is the male Zorbro, whose weight reached 156 kilograms. The average weight of any representative of this breed starts from 70 kilograms, the height at the withers is from 75 centimeters.
Mastiffs seem clumsy and funny - this is due to their huge size and kind, docile nature. But experienced dog breeders know that the mastiff is an impeccable guard and protector.

The Tosa Inu is a variety of mastiff breed that is of Japanese origin.
Tosa Inu is a breed bred for guarding and participation in dog fights, therefore, the upbringing of Tosa Inu should be thorough, it is advisable to devote considerable time to training the animal.
The nature of this large dog is docile and good-natured, but only in relation to its own owners.
Tosa Inu get along well with children, but dog handlers do not recommend leaving such a huge dog with a small child without supervision. The size of the Tosa Inu is impressive: average weight - 85-90 kilograms, height - 60-70 centimeters.
