Keeping such animals in a small apartment is simply inhumane and inconvenient: they need space, the opportunity to walk and run.
Therefore, experienced dog owners take large dogs only to country houses, and some even keep them in special enclosures.
Alabai
This is truly a friend of children: parents can safely leave it near the child. The dog will never harm its little charge, will entertain it in every possible way, play, and allow itself to be stroked.

The main thing is that the child does not grab the animal by the tail and does not cause pain. Also, Alabai are hardy, strong, self-confident, brave, and are not afraid of anyone.
The owners are adored, considered their own pack and perceived accordingly. Despite its size (height up to 70 cm, weight up to 60 kg), the dog is distinguished by its calmness and unhurriedness.
They never encroach on other people's territory, get along well with other pets (especially dogs), and treat them in a friendly, protective and gentle manner.
Ideally, the owners get two Alabai dogs at once - a male and a female, and the male should be older and more experienced.
The only exception is rodents (hamsters, gerbils, chinchillas, guinea pigs). The Alabai may perceive them as potential prey and start hunting.
Saint Bernard
Probably the most good-natured of the large dogs (height reaches 90 cm, weight from 70 kg).
Outwardly, he is, of course, frightening, but it is enough to just communicate with him for a short time to understand how kind this animal is. He gets along with people, dogs, cats, children, and knows how to play without unnecessary noise.
St. Bernards are affectionate, love to cuddle with their owners, happily greet guests, easily get to know them, and allow themselves to be petted.
In addition, they are excellent rescuers and guides: they can find a victim and warm them with their warmth until help arrives. In this regard, the size of the dog plays an important role: it protects the person, helps him, and sincerely sympathizes.
Great Dane
The tallest dog (height can reach 1 meter, and weight 90 kilograms).
Of course, in this situation you only need an experienced owner who understands large breeds and knows how to get along with them.
Special enclosures are set up for Great Danes so as not to restrict their freedom.
Outwardly, they are incredibly noble, aristocratic and at the same time powerful. At the sight of a Great Dane, an unprepared person may even be frightened, although by nature this is a rather nice creature.
The Great Dane is peaceful, loyal, easy to train (it is better to do it professionally, with a dog trainer), obeys its owner. And if it shows aggression, then only in case of danger.
Newfoundland
This breed appeared in Canada and quickly gained popularity. Initially, the dog was a fishing assistant, but gradually became a regular pet. This dog swims well and can save drowning people.
His appearance is outstanding - his weight exceeds 100 kilograms, and his height is up to 80 centimeters.
People call him "the diver". Indeed, the Newfoundland navigates the water no worse than professional rescuers. The dog is incredibly smart, quickly understands when help is needed and willingly provides it.
Caucasian Shepherd Dog
A very cute dog with lush fur, strong and tall. An adult male weighs about 80-90 kg.
It is distinguished by its courage, is not afraid of any obstacles, easily adapts to a harsh climate, is hardy and agile. It recognizes only its owners, and is suspicious of strangers.
