Even though cats are carnivores, they still need plant food.
However, not all vegetables are equally beneficial for our pets.
Therefore, before giving something to your cat, find out whether a particular vegetable is on the list of prohibited ones.

What vegetables can cats eat?
A cat's diet should consist of meat, and only 2% of it should be fiber-rich vegetables.
The list of vegetables useful for the little predator includes:
- carrots, rich in beta-carotene;
- pumpkin, which contains dietary fiber;
- cucumbers, which help prevent urinary tract diseases;
- green peas and green beans.
What vegetables should not be given to cats
Garlic and all types of onions are contraindicated for animals. The fact is that they contain sulfur compounds that are dangerous for the animal's body and lead to anemia.
Also, cats should not be given spinach, which promotes the formation of deposits in the urinary tract.
We previously wrote about why cats need to avoid sugar and what treats to choose instead.
