Why does a cat ride on its butt?

To answer this question briefly, the animal feels discomfort in this area and tries with all its might to get rid of it.

Let us remember that cats are very clean animals. Therefore, if the hard-to-reach place under the tail gets dirty or a tangle appears there and the cat is unable to lick it, it will try to get rid of the problem using rough surfaces.

However, it is often the itch in the anus that makes a cat roll on the floor. And this problem is caused by more serious reasons, for example:

  • helminths and other parasites;
  • constipation;
  • neoplasms in the anus area;
  • injury;
  • diarrhea.

In any case, if your cat behaves this way with enviable consistency, this is a reason to contact a veterinarian.
