The first sign is that the cat goes to the toilet outside the litter box. You think that he is being naughty, but this is how he screams: "It hurts!" Perhaps he has cystitis or kidney stones, and you scold him for puddles.
The second signal is licking until bald spots. If a cat spends hours "washing" itself, it is stressed. Maybe you rearranged the furniture or got a second pet? For a cat, this is the apocalypse.
The third sign is that he hides under the sofa when you turn on the vacuum cleaner. You laugh at his "cowardice", but in reality, these are panic attacks.
Noisy equipment, children screaming, or even the smell of perfume - all of this scares the cat. If he trembles and presses his ears, do not drag him into your arms - let him calm down in a shelter.
How to earn forgiveness? Put the litter box in a quiet place and wash it without chemicals - the smell of chlorine is a deterrent. Buy a scratching post and do not touch the cat when he eats.
And never look him in the eye - in the cat world, that's a threat. Love him not as a toy, but as a creature with its own character.
