First, it is important to know what types of paint coatings exist today. There are three types:
- for outdoor work;
- for indoor work;
- universal.

The first group is characterized by increased wear resistance, moisture resistance, and does not fade in the sun. But it is not recommended to use it for painting walls indoors.

They contain special substances (antiseptics, hardeners) that improve the properties of the product, but they are often toxic. For use on outdoor surfaces, this is not dangerous or critical, but indoors they will evaporate and can cause health problems.

Of course, only the last two types are suitable for covering walls in rooms. But even among them there are their own varieties. Their classification is based on the components included in the product.

Depending on the solvent used, the following paints are distinguished:

- water-soluble;
This is a popular type of paint. Water-soluble paints are widely used due to their convenience and ease of use, drying time and price. They are well colored with pigments, lie smoothly on surfaces.

But this type of paint is unstable, especially to aggressive environments. Therefore, it is better not to use such paint in the bathroom or kitchen. Suitable for a bedroom or living room.

- acrylic;
This coating is resistant to moisture and mechanical impact. The paint can be applied to any surface. It is suitable for use in rooms with high humidity.

- latex;
A more durable and moisture-resistant coating is formed than the previous type of paint. This variety is also suitable for creating decorative elements, imitation of brickwork. The price will be higher.

- silicone.
Silicone paints are highly wear-resistant, are not afraid of ultraviolet rays, and are heat-resistant. The disadvantage is the price.

1. Designers recommend choosing a color based on the furniture that will be placed in the room. It is not necessary to buy them right away. First, you will have to evaluate the options, colors and textures.

2. If you don't have a clear idea of how the room should look in the end, it's recommended to look for examples in magazines and websites. You can place a board in the room where you can pin your favorite ideas. This will allow you to see what styles, trends, colors, and decor elements you like best.

3. To avoid getting bored with the interior quickly, it is better to take neutral shades as a basis and use bright colors as accents. If the furnishings in the room are neutral, then it is permissible to choose a bright coating.

4. Don't skimp on buying samples. You can't fully imagine how a particular coating will look until you apply it.
