It goes without saying that a wooden house is a private house.

Perhaps we are talking about a country house, a summer house or a building located within the city limits.

Be that as it may, a house built of wood is always distinguished by some kind of inner warmth and coziness that comes from just looking at it, says Yulia Tychino .

Of course, it is very important to decorate the exterior of your home in the style that will be most comfortable for the owner.

However, having become fascinated by the view from the outside, one should not forget about such an important element as interior decoration - the interior of a wooden house. After all, you will still live or just spend time inside the house, and not outside.

Where to start?

Usually, when it comes to interior design in wooden houses, any person immediately begins to imagine the furniture and equipment that he will use in the rooms. However, everything should be done gradually. And the first thing to think about is the covering of wooden walls.

The beauty of such a material as wood is that no matter how easy it is for you to choose it, your walls will always be original and unique, because wood is a piece of natural nature.

You will never find two similar logs or beams. Each pattern is original in its own way, the texture of each board is unique. Therefore, exclusivity is guaranteed.

However, wood is a very sensitive and capricious material, so without proper and high-quality finishing it will not last long. If you pay due attention to this aspect of construction, then both reliability and individuality are guaranteed.

First of all, it is worth considering the fact that all wood coatings are divided into two groups - tinting and protective. As you may have guessed, tinting coatings are designed to emphasize or even change the color of wood.

The essence of their action is that they "saturate" the material, giving it a particular shade. However, such coatings cannot protect wood from scratches, fingerprints and other damage. In addition, they strongly retain dust, which is then almost impossible to wipe off.

Therefore, after applying several tinting layers, you should resort to protective coatings. The latter remain on the surface of the material without being absorbed into it. Usually these are oil compositions that are applied to the wood in several layers, creating a smooth, durable surface that is easy to clean and insensitive to external mechanical influences.

It goes without saying that there are many shade options for both types of coatings. You can stick to natural shades or give the walls any color.

Protective paints can be glossy or matte, transparent or tinted - the choice is yours. However, do not forget about the basic rules for preparing wood for painting.

First of all, the material must be well dried, otherwise it is impossible to avoid that the paint will crack over time. Any coating must be applied exclusively to a smooth, well-polished surface.

This also applies to cases when you want to achieve the most natural look for your walls. Also, to avoid getting into trouble, make a test sample on a separate area before painting the walls. Then you won’t have to be upset because the shade of the walls is not what you wanted.

Small and not so small items

Once the work with the walls is completed, you can begin to decorate the interior of wooden houses with furniture and other decorative elements. There are a great many options and styles. You just need to decide what exactly you want.

For many years now, the most popular style for home decoration has been the "hunting lodge" style.

Here, fairly massive wooden furniture of various types, the presence of decorative weapons and "predatory" skins can help, and, of course, it is impossible to imagine such a house without a fireplace.

However, no less popular is the design of premises in a modern style, for example, in the high-tech style. This means that the interiors of wooden houses use a minimum of furniture, original in shape and color, and the house itself is filled with all kinds of the latest technology that may come in handy.

It is very original that the "village"-looking house is filled with all the latest delights of civilization, and the walls and ceilings are simply amazing in their unusualness, beveled logs and non-standard shapes.

The main rule is huge windows, glass ceilings if possible. After all, natural light should burst into such a house from all the cracks.

National motifs are also popular, for example, a Russian merchant's house with rich wooden furniture, English-style decor is possible, minimalist Japanese style, Alpine and many others are also fashionable.
