High-quality and durable furniture from the USSR is becoming a trend again.
People who know their stuff restore these items and fit them harmoniously into the interior so that IKEA catalogues look bland.
Interest in vintage interior items began to emerge back in the 2010s. Enthusiasts and simply enterprising people even managed to build a business on this.

Now this trend continues to develop and attract more and more people who want to combine modern style with Soviet history.
Expert of the online publication TUT NOVOSTI, designer Yulia Tychino suggested several ideas on how to fit Soviet furniture into a modern apartment.
At the core, of course, are massive furniture elements. These are pedestals, chairs on thin, often conical, legs with thin armrests. Also, don't forget about radios, tables and chairs.
This furniture will fit harmoniously into the interior if you take into account the “little things”: doors with glass inserts, door and window handles, hinges, etc.
These details give the style harmony and naturalness; there is no feeling that attempts are being made to combine the incompatible.
A wooden chest of drawers, for example, makes an interesting combination with a modern mirror. If you inherited a rare piece, it can be turned into perhaps the most expensive item.
Another direction is light sources. Chandeliers, floor lamps, sconces. Fabric lampshades can be reupholstered with new material, and in other lamps, replace the fittings, repaint, if necessary.
But it is important to note that retro lamps are not as powerful as modern ones. Therefore, they are best used as decoration or a source of soft, diffused light.
