Today, a bar counter in the kitchen is considered a sign of “good taste”.

In modern interiors it is used more and more often, giving it additional functions.

There are at least two cases when a bar counter is an appropriate option. They were told by the expert of the online publication TUT NOVOSTI, designer Yulia Tychino.

Kitchen area

A bar counter is a compromise solution for a small apartment, most often a studio.

Here it is no longer a matter of fashion, but of practicality and saving space.

In addition, it will not only serve as a countertop, but will also help divide the space, since in studios the dining and kitchen areas are combined.

As a supplement

There are also opposite cases, when the kitchen is spacious enough and in addition to the usual table there is the possibility of installing a bar counter.

This is also a suitable solution if you really want to make such a kitchen.

"Make the bar counter part of the kitchen island. You can install it at one level, raise it or make it a little lower," the expert advised.

A separate bar counter can be equipped with cabinets for storing dishes, small appliances and other kitchen utensils.
