What can be the design of an apartment in a panel house: advice from a designer

The phrase "panel house" evokes complex and contradictory feelings among city dwellers, who mostly live in residential areas, in "panel houses".

On the one hand, this is affordable, inexpensive housing, on the other hand, the number of shortcomings is off the charts: imperfect planning, small area, "crushing" ceilings, low quality of finishing works and much more. Nevertheless, there is no need to be discouraged.

In long rooms, the end walls should be brighter than the side ones. This effect can be achieved by painting them on the walls and pasting them with wallpaper in rich tones. At the same time, the curtains should be even more intensely colored.

The increase of space can be achieved with the help of correctly arranged furniture, the most massive part of which is recommended to be placed as close as possible to the end wall. Due to the mirrored door of the wardrobe, additional mirrors the room will seem more spacious.

Another effective method is zoning, which must necessarily be transverse. Here, an interesting innovative solution deserves special attention - the arrangement of a podium.

The classic option is a tall shelf with neatly arranged books or covered with indoor plants, which allows you to successfully separate the work area from the rest area.

Much greater planning efficiency can be achieved by skillfully combining all of these techniques.

In stylistic direction, preference is given to:

- geometric, elegant and laconic;

- the beloved modernism;

- minimalism, which is at the peak of fashion;

- high-tech, as a style of high technology;

- elegant art deco, with some public features;

- classicism, which has not lost its relevance over a long period of time, and others.

It is not always possible to decorate an apartment in a “pure” style, therefore the main requirement that must be met in the style solution is the presence of absolute harmony and beauty.
