But if guests avoid your kitchen, it's not the food that's causing them to turn off. Let's figure out what mistakes are preventing this space from becoming attractive.
The first thing people notice is the smell. Even if you've cooked a masterpiece, the remnants of yesterday's fish or oil can ruin everything.
Many people don't think about the hood or leave it off so it doesn't make noise, but in vain. Good ventilation saves the situation, especially in small rooms.
If odors have soaked into your curtains or upholstery, it's time to freshen them up - your guests will definitely appreciate it.
Another problem is the lack of space. Cramped conditions, where everyone is crowded around the table or cannot sit comfortably, forces people to look for space.
If the kitchen is small, it is worth considering compact furniture or at least removing unnecessary items from the surfaces. Open shelves with a bunch of jars and utensils create a feeling of chaos, while free space, on the contrary, encourages communication.

Cleanliness is another thing that can’t be ignored. Sticky spots on the table, crumbs on the floor or a dirty sink are things that are noticed right away.
Even if you cleaned in the morning, before guests arrive, it is worth going through the kitchen again. Perfect cleanliness works better than any decor and shows respect for those who came to you.
Finally, the lack of comfort. Bare walls, hard chairs without cushions or a cold floor without a rug are as off-putting as clutter.
The kitchen should not only be functional, but also warm. A couple of plants, soft textiles or even a chalk board add life. People stay where they feel comfortable, not where there is just food.
Fixing these details is not that difficult. Start small - air out, remove unnecessary things, add light. And you will notice how guests will start to linger in the kitchen, rather than looking for an excuse to leave.
