Pour the washed rice into a thick-bottomed dish in the proportions indicated on the package. Then add cold water and cook for 20 minutes from the moment it boils.

Then turn off the heat and keep it under the lid for 10 minutes. If the rice is steamed, you can serve it immediately after cooking. This method is suitable for all types and varieties of rice.

The "pilaf" method

Heat oil in a deep frying pan, pour in washed rice, add salt and fry for 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Then pour boiling water and cook for 18 minutes until the water is completely absorbed.

After cooking, leave it under the lid for 5-8 minutes. Porridges cooked from basmati and jasmine are especially tasty this way.

The "pasta" method

Place washed rice in boiling water, cook for 35 minutes, then rinse it with running water and return it to the hot pan, let it sit for 10 minutes and add butter and salt to taste. It is best to use brown rice for cooking.

For sushi

Pour cold water over the washed rice, cook for 15 minutes after boiling, remove from heat and let sit for another 15 minutes.

The finished cereal must be poured with a special dressing consisting of rice vinegar, sugar, salt and heated over a fire until completely dissolved. To prepare this dish, you must use special Japanese rice, but you can replace it with round-grain rice.

With turmeric

Pour the washed basmati rice into a frying pan with oil and turmeric, fry under the lid for about 5 minutes, then pour in cold water and cook for 10 minutes after boiling, add salt at the end of cooking. Keep under the lid for 15 minutes.

All these basic methods can be diversified by adding various seasonings both at the time of cooking the cereal and before serving.

Rice goes well with curry, cloves, saffron, cinnamon, cumin, and barberry.

All porridges must be cooked over low heat so that the grains have time to cook in the proportions indicated on the package.

You can also make porridge sweet by adding milk, honey, nuts, various berry jams. Or you can add meat, mushrooms, vegetables and get a wonderful side dish.
