Salt gives flavor to pasta, but oil spoils it.

You need to salt the water you cook your pasta in, just like you would with most other dishes.

Most Italian cooks recommend adding enough salt to make the cooking water taste like sea water.

Julia Child, renowned chef and cookbook author, emphasized that adding salt to the water is the only proper way to season pasta while it's cooking.

If you don't do this, the final product will be bland and tasteless.

On the contrary, it is not recommended to add oil to water.

It will float to the surface while cooking and can end up making your pasta slippery.

They will absorb some of the oil and therefore the sauce will not stick to them.

It is better to add oil after cooking the pasta.

To cook pasta properly and prevent it from sticking together, make sure you have a large pot and plenty of water.

Before adding the pasta, add salt to the boiling water.

Start adding pasta 5-10 pieces at a time. This will reduce the likelihood of them sticking together in the first 20 seconds of cooking.

Therefore, regardless of the various tips, the correct way to cook pasta is in salted water.
