The Abkhazian authorities have asked Russia to resume social payments.
The Republic sent a corresponding letter to Moscow.
This was announced on Monday, December 9, by Acting Prime Minister Valery Bganba.

The letter was sent to the Chairman of the Russian Government Mikhail Mishustin, TASS reports.
In the document, the Abkhazian authorities call on Moscow to unfreeze co-financing of wages and social payments.
Before that, Bganba held a meeting of the energy headquarters. He said that the republic spends "enormous amounts of money" to pay for the flow of electricity from Russia.
Russia has warned Abkhazia since November 2024 that it will stop making all social payments except pensions.
Moscow was left disappointed that the neighboring republic did not support the investment agreement signed in October.
It caused discontent among a part of Abkhazian society. A rebellion was started, which led to the resignation of the president.
The country's new leader is planned to be elected on February 15 next year.
