In August of this year, economy class flights increased significantly in price.
Tickets for Russian citizens have become almost 30% more expensive compared to the same period last year.
This information was shared by the RBC agency with reference to Rosstat statistics.
It is noted that since the beginning of the year, the highest dynamics of growth in prices for air tickets in the entire history of Rosstat observations has been recorded.
A sharp jump in the growth of the cost of economy class tickets was observed in January-February 2024. At that time, the cost of the flight increased by 34-42% (in annual terms).
Thus, now 1 thousand kilometers of travel in economy class costs on average 7912.64 rubles. And this amount is an absolute anti-record for the entire period of Rosstat observations.
Flight prices have increased by 28.4%. Similar growth was observed in August 2008, but even then it did not exceed the current values, amounting to 27.2% since the beginning of the year.
Therefore, Russians were advised to purchase tickets in advance in order to save on flights.
