Despite the existence of restrictions in the form of a price ceiling, the European Union continues to purchase Russian oil.

In October, the association purchased energy resources for a record amount.

This is the conclusion reached by RIA Novosti experts who studied Eurostat data.

In mid-autumn, the European Union significantly increased its supplies of black gold. Oil was purchased for 687.5 million euros.

It is noted that this amount spent is only slightly less than the previous record set in February.

At that time, European countries paid 690 million euros for Russian oil.

It is noted that the market owes the sharp increase in purchases to the Czech Republic, which doubled its supplies of black gold from 91.3 million to 185.9 million euros.

Hungary also contributed, purchasing 1.5 times more oil than in the same period earlier.

Other EU countries also increased supplies; for example, the Netherlands purchased oil for 60.4 million euros instead of 40.5 million the month before.
