EU increases fertilizer imports from Russia to 20-month high

It has become known which key products the European Union has increased its imports from the Russian Federation.

The EU purchased 30% more Russian fertilizers in July.

This information was shared by the RIA Novosti agency, whose specialists studied Eurostat data.

It is noted that in November 2022, Europe purchased Russian fertilizers worth 264 million euros, but then sales fell.

During the summer, imports of products gradually increased and exceeded last year's figures. Purchases of Russian fertilizers increased by 2.2 times in June and by 1.7 times in July compared to the same periods in 2023.

In total, Europe purchased Russian fertilizers worth 199 million euros.

It is noted that the leader in imports of this type of product is Poland, which purchased fertilizers for 55.7 million euros.

The top three purchasers of Russian fertilizers also include France and Germany, which increased imports to 31.5 and 24.5 million euros, respectively.
