Anton Trenin, an expert from the corporate ratings group ACRA, expressed this opinion in a conversation with RIA Novosti .
According to him, there is a high probability that record salmon runs (fish catches in the summer-autumn period) will not be expected in the coming years.
In 2024, the fish catch was lower than in 2023. It is noted that even years in the fishing industry are considered less fishy than odd years.
The fishing industry will face new taxes as early as 2025. In particular, payments for fishing areas and the use of aquatic bioresources will increase.
All this, in turn, increases the cost of raw materials for processors.
Therefore, the above factors indicate that in the next 5-7 years, prices for red caviar will be under pressure, and this will not allow them to decrease.
