The State Duma intends to strengthen control measures by destroying these products.

From September 1, it will be impossible to buy expired and illegal dairy products and water through the cash registers of non-chain stores.

Large retail chains began blocking sales of expired dairy products and water on May 1, while non-chain retailers will begin doing so on September 1, Izvestia writes.

According to the CRPT, more than 90 thousand retail outlets launched the mechanism that eliminates the sale of expired products to customers ahead of schedule.

Deputy General Director of CRPT Revaz Yusupov emphasized that the product labeling system has been implemented in every Russian store.

Since May 1, about 35 million liters of illegal dairy products and 34 million liters of illegal water have been blocked in retail.

According to Yusupov, thanks to the labeling system, approximately 69 million Russians were protected from purchasing dangerous products.

A significant increase in this indicator can be expected after the introduction of the lockdown regime from September 1 in non-chain stores.
