The Ministry of Economic Development proposes to legalize the right of hotels to introduce non-refundable rates similar to airline tickets.
Non-refundable rates for hotel bookings may be introduced from March 1, 2025.
The bill will allow hotels to minimize losses when bookings are cancelled.
It is emphasized that on average hotels lose up to 20 billion rubles per year.
The authors of the initiative specified in the document in which cases tourists will be allowed to return money for their booking.
This may occur in the event of illness or death of the consumer or his close relatives.
