How to behave after being fired from work

Losing your job ruins your plans and undermines your sense of security.

It brings anxiety, tries to take away your confidence.

Liberation from dark thoughts

When people lose their jobs, they start to think negatively about themselves, their future, and lose the energy needed to find a new job. These are the thoughts that need to be addressed first.

Close the chapter called "old job". Don't dwell on the unpleasant situations associated with it, don't hold a grudge against your boss, etc. This will only worsen your depression and take away your strength. You need to move on energetically and give yourself a chance to find a new job.

Do you feel like you're having bad memories again? Distract yourself from dark thoughts with a pleasant activity - take a walk, pamper yourself with a rest in a home spa, watch a movie.

Make a list of your strengths. This will banish (or at least weaken) your critical thoughts about yourself. It will be easier for you to believe in your abilities again and start taking action.

Whenever you think you are useless (a common thought among people without a job), repeat the advantages mentioned earlier. For example: it was my boss who asked me to introduce new employees to my duties, I was the one who dealt best with difficult clients, etc.

You have weaknesses (we all have them) that lower your self-esteem - write them down on a piece of paper and symbolically cross them out. Now you need to believe in yourself, not dwell on failures.

Go out to people. Isolation from others and the desired peace will only make the problem worse - when you are alone, it is easier for you to succumb to dark thoughts. You must fight this.

A friend invites you to a birthday party? Don't refuse. Your husband received an invitation from a couple to a party? You should go. Don't hide in the corners during such meetings.

Maybe you'll hear about a job offer during small talk? Or maybe someone will inspire you and you'll return home with an idea for your professional future?

Fight apathy. Do you feel like you want to be buried in your bed or sit on the couch and switch channels until late at night? Because you won't be working tomorrow? Stop. Your job is now to look for a new job.

Don't change your habits. Still get up in the morning, be active, take care of yourself and your loved ones, in a word - do everything you have been doing so far. This will allow you to master your emotions faster.

Don't talk about unemployment like it's a plague. Stay positive and confident.

It's an art (not only logistical, but also requiring the right psychological attitude) that you may not have done for a long time.

When responding to an ad, list the skills that best match the job posting first. Are you applying for a job at a travel agency? Write that, for example, during your studies you helped organize youth camps and completed a course for tour guides.

When writing your resume, don't ignore your strengths. Don't assume that, for example, the ability to send emails is so common that there's nothing to write about. The more assets you present, the more likely your proposal will be approved.

Don't be shy about asking your friends for help. Ask them if they've heard about the vacancies, ask them to keep their eyes and ears open. If possible, they'll definitely help you.

Consider working below your qualifications. Sometimes this is the best solution, although you may feel bad working in a lower position. Then it is worth thinking about what is really important in life.

Like most people, you will probably come to the conclusion that it is health, family, friendship from which you can draw positive energy.

Paradoxically, working in an unsatisfactory position will become a springboard for career advancement.

Because, for example, the company that hired you uses a motivation system for employees that gives them the opportunity for professional development. Check if it has such prospects.

Earlier I talked about why some people get rich while others remain poor.
