The Prime Minister spoke about the timing of the extension and indexation of maternity capital.
Mikhail Mishustin emphasized that this option for supporting families with children shows excellent results, so its validity will be extended.
The program will be extended until 2030 inclusive, RIA Novosti reports.
The Cabinet of Ministers will discuss and adopt all necessary amendments to legislation for this purpose, the Prime Minister emphasized on Wednesday, December 18.
The extension of the program will allow the state to support almost 5 million more Russian families, Mishustin noted.
The head of government also spoke about indexing this payment.
He assured that maternity capital will continue to be indexed in the future.
The first indexation is scheduled for February 2025.
At the birth of the first child, the payment will amount to more than 676 thousand rubles.
If we are talking about the second and subsequent ones, then the amount of financial assistance will exceed 893 thousand rubles, the Prime Minister informed.
Mishustin added that the government will continue to help families with children.
To this end, the national project “Family” is being prepared for launch on January 1, 2025.
