It has become known how prices for tobacco products will change in the near future.
The minimum price for a pack of cigarettes in Russia will be 135 rubles.
Irina Fedina, Deputy Director of the Department of Food Industry of the Ministry of Agriculture, announced this at the interregional forum “Retail Days in Siberia,” RIA Novosti reports.
She recalled that on January 1, 2025, prices for tobacco products, as well as vaping liquid, will be indexed.
Nicotine-containing products with heated tobacco on a stick will become 4.5% more expensive. Vape liquid will become 5% more expensive.
As a result, the minimum cost of cigarettes in Russia will be 135 rubles.
Let us recall that the price increase is related to the State Duma resolution adopted in July 2024. Excise taxes on tobacco products will be indexed annually by 4%.
These indexations will continue for at least the next three years.
Thus, the excise tax on tobacco will increase as follows. In 2025, its cost will be 9,807, in 2026 - 10,199 and in 2027 - 10,607 rubles per kilogram.
As for vapes, excise taxes on liquids will increase to 44, and then 46 and 48 rubles per milligram, respectively.
