Switzerland expands sanctions against Russia

The Swiss Department of Economic Affairs will impose restrictions on 69 individuals and 47 Russian organizations.

Thus, Switzerland joined the 14th package of EU sanctions against Russia.

The Swiss government's statement on its personal blog on social media stressed that the country's Department of Economic Affairs would impose restrictions on 69 individuals and 47 organizations.

Switzerland does not provide an exact list of individuals and organizations that have been sanctioned.

Preliminary, it includes Russian businessmen, military personnel, representatives of the judiciary and the media.

In total, the number of Russian individuals and legal entities on which Switzerland has imposed sanctions has reached 2.2 thousand.

Earlier, the European Union decided to close the “biggest loophole” in sanctions against Russia.
