Currants and gooseberries require no less attention in autumn than other garden crops.

Plants need to be pruned and treated against diseases so that in the spring they are healthy and quickly begin to grow.

After fruiting, currants and gooseberries "rest" at the end of summer and beginning of autumn. Gardeners almost never approach them, except for watering.

But around mid-autumn, these plants require care.

During this period, treatment against diseases is carried out. The bushes are sprayed with a 3% solution of Bordeaux mixture.

Or prepare a solution of copper oxychloride - 40 g of the product per 10 liters of water.

If young currant or gooseberry bushes have appeared on the site this season, it is recommended to mulch them.

A layer (10 cm) of sawdust, compost or peat can be placed in the tree trunk circle.

When snow falls, you can throw it on top. Such a layer will reliably protect young plants from severe frosts.
