Garlic, like some other plants, is not recommended to be planted in the same place.
Otherwise, the condition of the soil may deteriorate, which will have a negative impact on the quality and quantity of the harvest.
Agronomist Anastasia Kovrizhnykh spoke about this in more detail.

It is worth remembering that you can grow garlic in the same place for no more than two years.
The same rule applies to planting onions. Otherwise, there may be risks of soil contamination with stem nematode.
Where to plant garlic
This crop does not like to grow in the shade. Therefore, it is better to place the bed in open areas.
Also, garlic, like a number of other plants, requires fertile soil.
Don't forget about moisture. Otherwise, its lack will have a negative impact on the quality of the harvest.
It is especially important to provide sufficient moisture during the germination of cloves.
What to plant after garlic
Beans and tomatoes will grow well in the bed where garlic was previously grown.
You can also plant potatoes, cucumbers, cabbage or beets here.
In addition, after garlic, you can plant annual herbs. They will help restore the soil, filling it with essential microelements and minerals.
The best option would be to plant rapeseed, rye, peas or mustard.
Earlier we talked about where it is best to plant strawberries.
