It is not easy to remove black insects from the site, because the destroyed ant population is restored and fills the surrounding areas.
Methods of struggle
A colony of ants that has settled in the beds causes harm; the insects eat berries and root crops, spoil the lawn by damaging the root part, and eat flower buds.
Ant heaps appear on the path, garden bed, spoiling the visual appeal of the area.

Ants cause damage to cultivated plants: they damage roots and destroy crops. This pest lives next to aphids. The latter feeds on plant sap and produces a sweet liquid that ants feed on. Therefore, experienced gardeners fight aphids first, and then ants. Plants damaged by aphids are treated with insecticides.
Mechanical, folk and chemical methods are good in the fight against ants. The anthill is dug up with a shovel, and ash and lime are added to the soil.
The habitat of pests is treated with aromatic substances, flavorings. Garlic and bay leaf are often laid out. Also, areas where ants accumulate are covered with boric acid or soda.
There is a practice of pouring vegetable oil mixed with water, kerosene or boiling water over the anthill. This option is carried out in the evening after sunset.
To repel ants, a cloth soaked in kerosene is placed under a bush or tree. For example, a tree trunk is tied with cotton wool soaked in a carbolic solution.
Chemical preparations that destroy pests have two main components: diazonin and chlorpyrifos. The first substance blocks the production of enzymes responsible for the ant nervous system. The insect's body is convulsed, and death occurs as a result of paralysis.
Chlorpyrifos enters the pest's body through the respiratory tract. It is a similar blocker to the ant's central nervous system.
Ants also love to feast on sweet strawberries, so it is important to protect the berry from insect invasion. Gardeners use baits based on a mixture of yeast and honey or sugar.
"Tasty bait" is placed between the bushes in small lids from packages. The ants fall into it.
Ammonia is used as a spray from a spray bottle on places where insects accumulate. Between garden crops, branches of wormwood, mint are laid out, and garlic can be squeezed out.
For those who prefer to use harmless means, there are folk recipes and substances in the fight against ant invasion.
Preventive measures
Don't be fooled by the small size and appearance of the ants. They will soon become the masters of the plantings and fill them with aphids. Prevention and control are complex, since the pest is omnipresent - not only on your own plot, but also on your neighbors'.
It is impossible and ineffective to fight individual individuals, because the strength of the colony is in the queen, located underground and producing millions of offspring for many years. It is important that a new ant family does not form on the site.
A quality method for removing ants is to dig up the soil. To prevent insects from settling on trees and bushes, the trunks and lower branches are treated with lime.
The main problem is considered to be the repeated return of ants to their habitats. Mint, calendula, and wormwood are planted on the summer cottage. If the long-term struggle is unsuccessful, it means that the main nest, the queen, has not been found.
Various methods of insect control will help get rid of a large number of pests and prevent their appearance.
