Some plants do not tolerate proximity to certain crops.
And this fact must be taken into account when planting tomatoes.
Agronomist Anastasia Kovrizhnykh told which neighbors can be dangerous for tomatoes.

What is prohibited to plant
Tomatoes will not grow well near potatoes. These crops belong to the nightshade family and therefore do not get along together.
Tomatoes do not like to be near eggplants. Firstly, this plant can be “attacked” by the Colorado potato beetle.
Secondly, eggplants can be susceptible to the same diseases as tomatoes. Only they often get sick in a latent form.
It is not recommended to plant cucumbers next to tomatoes. Otherwise, both of these crops will disappoint with the amount of harvest.
Tomatoes will be harmed by proximity to large plants that create shade.
So it is worth planting corn and various bushes further away from them. Golden currant will also be a bad neighbor for tomatoes.
