After fruiting has finished, it is worth taking care of the raspberries so that the harvest next year will be at a decent level.
Preparing raspberries for winter begins in the second half of August. Pruning, fertilizing and, of course, mulching.
The importance of mulching for raspberries cannot be underestimated. The roots of the plant are not very deep, so severe frosts against the background of the lack of snow can lead to disastrous consequences.

Wise gardeners never leave raspberries alone in the cold, but always mulch them.
A huge number of materials are suitable for this purpose. You can limit yourself to budget options (hay, straw, manure, sawdust) or use spunbond (density 50-60 g / sq. m).
Before mulching, additional feeding will not be superfluous. It will bring its results in the next season. You can use a complex composition containing potassium and phosphorus.
Note
In the spring, when it gets warmer, the layer of mulch or covering material should be removed so that the raspberry roots do not rot.
