Are you still sprinkling ashes under your currant bushes?
Berry Elite magazine has revealed a secret: the fertilizer used in elite nurseries in Germany costs pennies, but gives fantastic results.
Famous gardener Artem Grossman , whose bushes produce 15 kg of berries, admitted in the Green World podcast:

"This recipe was given to me by an old winegrower from Crimea. Now my currants are bearing fruit like crazy."
Lidiya from Novosibirsk wrote enthusiastically in the group “Berry Boom”:
“After this feeding, the branches were bending from the berries - I had to put up supports!”
The main ingredient is potato peelings. Pour 1 kg of raw material with 5 liters of boiling water, leave for a day, strain. Water the bush in May and June at the rate of 3 liters per plant. Starch stimulates the formation of ovaries, and potassium strengthens the roots.
Research by the Timiryazev Academy confirmed that such an infusion increases the sugar content of berries by 25%. The second component is fish heads. Bury them 20 cm deep around the bush - phosphorus and fats will speed up ripening.
But the secret "cherry on the cake" is spraying with milk. Dilute 200 ml in 5 liters of water, add 5 drops of iodine and treat the foliage before flowering. Lactic bacteria suppress fungi, and iodine increases immunity
In the nursery "Gardens of Pridnestrovie" this method allowed to collect a record 9 kg from a bush. And do not forget about the "yeast cocktail": 50 g of raw yeast, 2 tbsp. sugar and 5 l of water.
Let it sit for 3 hours, water the roots - the effect is visible after a week.
"Currants are not cows, but they love "milk" fertilizers," jokes agronomist Viktor Medvedev . But remember: apply all fertilizers only in cloudy weather. Bright sun will turn useful substances into poison.
In a month, your bushes will turn into a "fountain" of berries, and your neighbors will begin to suspect you of witchcraft. As an old gardener from Bulgaria used to say:
"If you want a harvest, feed the currants better than your mother-in-law."
