Winter is approaching, and the only thing left to do in the garden and vegetable patch is to cover perennials for the winter.

However, before taking on this task, it is worth weighing the pros and cons.

Is it worth covering perennials?

Roses, rhododendrons and other plants that are frequent guests in the gardens of Russians are quite heat-loving plants.

However, in some cases, covering can only harm perennials.

The weather has been so unpredictable lately that sometimes even before the New Year you can still see green grass. Consequently, at positive temperatures the plants rot under the covering material, which is also dangerous for them.

Then, the moisture-soaked covering material will inevitably become covered with an icy crust from the bitter frosts, which will not allow air to pass through.

That is why the best shelter for plants is snow. Mice will not settle in it, and the plants will not suffocate without air. The main thing is to add it in time where perennials overwinter.
