Stop blaming the variety - the problem is in your approach. Everything you knew about planting potatoes is a lie. Forget about shovels and hoes!
Try the “under the straw” method, which will change your idea of a vegetable garden. Spread the sprouted tubers directly on the surface of the soil, sprinkle them with compost and cover with a layer of straw (30-40 cm).
In a week, the shoots will break through the cover, and you will be surprised: new tubers are already forming under the straw, not only on the roots, but also on the stems.
Why does it work? Straw retains moisture even during drought, protects against weeds and Colorado beetles, which cannot find potatoes under such a "blanket".
And when it's time to harvest, you simply push aside the straw and see dozens of large, clean tubers. You can get up to 7 kg of potatoes from one bush if you add straw in time as the shoots grow.
But there are nuances. If there are mice in your area, add juniper branches to the straw - their smell will scare away the rodents.
