Bad Neighborhood
Grapes may not grow well near tomatoes. Moreover, the harmful effects of this crop may not be immediately noticeable.
Due to such a neighborhood, grapes may be susceptible to late blight, which will not have the best effect on the quality and quantity of the harvest.
Tomato tops also release substances called phytoncides.
They can have a negative impact on grape flowers, inhibiting their growth.
In addition, the proximity to tomatoes will result in the berries being small and tasteless.
Some gardeners also plant cucumbers near the vines. But this is a mistake.
These plants may be susceptible to similar diseases. Moreover, instead of growing, the grapes will have to spend energy fighting their pathogens.
